What are cookies and how do we use them?
Workplace Economies (workplaceeconomies.com) is owned and operated by intheOffice Limited.
Cookies are small files of letters and numbers stored on your computer, tablet, or phone when you visit a website. They help the site recognise you and remember certain information, such as whether you are a subscriber or which pages you have visited.
In addition to cookies, we use similar technologies such as local storage and tracking pixels, which serve similar purposes and are covered by this policy.
Cookies that we use
We use the following types of cookies:

(2) Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors use the site, which content is read most, and how people find us. This information helps us improve the site and create better content.
Ghost Built-in Analytics
Ghost tracks basic metrics (page views, newsletter open rates) using server-side analytics. This does not set cookies on your device and does not personally identify you.

You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

Clarity does not record keystrokes, and sensitive form fields are masked by default. Microsoft may use the data collected to improve its own products.
You can learn more about Microsoft's data practices at: https://privacy.microsoft.com
If disabled: Disabling analytics cookies will not break any website functionality. We simply will not receive usage data to help us improve the site.
(3) Embedded Content Cookies
Our articles and podcast episodes include embedded content from third-party services. When you load a page containing this content, those services may set their own cookies, just as if you had visited their platforms directly.
YouTube
If a page contains an embedded YouTube video, Google may set cookies including:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Set By |
|---|---|---|---|
VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE |
Estimates bandwidth and adjusts video quality | 6 months | YouTube/Google |
YSC |
Tracks video views within a session | Session | YouTube/Google |
GPS |
Registers a unique ID on mobile devices for tracking | 30 minutes | YouTube/Google |
Podbean
If a page contains an embedded Podbean podcast player, Podbean may set cookies to manage playback and track listening data.
Third-party privacy policies:
- YouTube (Google): https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Podbean: https://www.podbean.com/privacy
We do not control what data these third parties collect through their embeds. If you are concerned about third-party cookies, you can block them in your browser settings without affecting the rest of the site (though embedded players and videos may not function).
Cookie Consent
When you first visit our website, we will ask for your consent to use non-essential cookies:
- Essential cookies are loaded automatically, as they are necessary for the site to function. No consent is required.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) require your consent before they are set.
- Embedded content cookies (YouTube, Podbean) are set by third parties when you load pages containing embedded content. These can be blocked in your browser settings.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by adjusting your cookie preferences through the cookie banner or by changing your browser settings.

- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
